I’d like to tell you how hard I worked at coordinating this adorable baby outfit with some current Stampin’ Up! products to create this well thought out, well designed baby gift and gift bag ensemble, but it would be a lie!!!
I missed a baby shower while Pool Boy and I were in Seattle. Knowing I still wanted to send a gift, I went on Carters.com and picked out several baby outfits, with a bit of a nature theme. They arrived while we were traveling, then I promptly set them on my island for a couple of weeks while I was getting ready for classes. In my head I was thinking about using the Cute As A Bug suite for the gift bag and tag, but nothing jumped out at me. Next, I turned to the Homemade Sweetness Suite because one of the outfits had a cherries on it. Still, nothing popped.
Then I took a good look at the ladybug outfit above – notice the colors???? Misty Moonlight and Flirty Flamingo!!!!!! The EXACT COLORS in the ladybug paper pattern included in the Homemade Sweetness DSP! Add in a cute tag stamped with a greeting from the Springtime Scenes bundle, the cute ladybug die cuts, and embossing with the ladybug picnic embossing folder, and you’d think I planned it from the beginning, wouldn’t you?????? Total fluke!

I used the two full sheets of the ladybug dsp for the bag, the Misty Moonlight checked ribbon for the bag handles, and a bit of Misty Moonlight twine from a past kit. But I wanted something else for the bag.

So lets write a recipe for raising a sweet baby girl! I penned and typed at the same time, reduced it down to the size needed, then printed on white card stock. Using the smaller recipe card die, I die cut the words, framed it with a scrap of the blue gingham paper, and I had an adorable, coordinated baby gift that looked like I’d planned it from the beginning, and a total coincidence!

Heather stamped with our group for many years. We showered her with a Stamp ‘n Sip wedding shower, we celebrated together at her wedding to Miles, and we celebrated the birth of their first child. She’s a full time elementary art teacher, a full time wife and momma, so life is hectic. We don’t see her as much as we like, but her momma Patty keeps us up to date on her and her family. And yesterday, they welcomed baby girl Cheyenne Alvie to the family. She will be loved, spoiled, and cherished by all of her relatives.
I do lots of mental designing – thinking it out in my head before going to work with designing. Friday I need to design Stamp ‘n Sip’s July project and it’s in my head. Now I just have to put it together with those three things – paper, stamp, and ink. And if coincidence is part of the design process – so be it!!!
