Let vacation begin!!! We arrived in Destin yesterday and was in our condo within an hour of arrival. We are staying at The Emerald Grande which sits on the edge of the bay. There’s an area of stores, restaurants, etc. known as the Harbor Walk right beside the resort, so truly, if you didn’t want to leave the resort you have plenty here to do. The view above is from our deck looking out on the other side of the bay, with the ocean directly behind that. To access the private beach we have to take a small ferry ride – less than 10 min. It’s quiet and peaceful and I can’t wait to head to the beach!!
A Condensed Version Of Our Travels Here!!!
We left Shelby the Canine Diva with Megan’s family Friday and started the first leg of our journey. A late lunch was at the Memphis BBQ Company in Horn Lake, Mississippi – and FYI, I STILL have to spell state in my head like I learned back in elementary school! I chose the BBQ nachos, and they were delicious and HUGE! Covered in brisket, a spicy BBQ sauce – yum! The banana pudding containers made it into the cooler for later in the evening! FYI – Those jalepeno slices are pickled with LOTS of vinegar – I prefer mine not pickled so those came off!
Yesterday’s Breakfast At A Hidden Gem!
We decided to drive a while before breakfast, and when we came upon Clanton, Alabama I started searching for a spot to eat. I came across reviews for the diner called The Dinner Bell so we drove into Clanton to check it out. OMG!!!! Such a great breakfast where the locals love to go, because the people in line were outside the door the entire time we were there. The picture above is as we were leaving and it was the first time there was no line waiting to be seated. Fun to experience little hidden gems other than fast food!
Stewby’s Was Our Choice For Dinner!
Sorry – no picture!!! We were too busy digging into our shrimp and calamari platters. Wonder what calamari is??? it’s squid – and you know it fresh when the tentacles are included!!! We ate here last year, and it still didn’t disappoint. Dessert went back to the condo with us – a serving of banana pudding and a slikce of Key Lime pie to share between us!
Where’s Our Crafting Going To Take Us This Week?????
I have packed a bag full of crafting goodies to play with this week, and I’m choosing to work with the color wheel we received at OnStage. The color wheel WITHOUT the white turning piece above can also be found in your catalog on page 132. This will be a great source to use for selecting color cominations to use in your paper crafting. My plan this week is to craft with the new In Colors and some stamps I received with the preorder from the upcoming new annual catalog as use the wheel. More tomorrow after I am unpacked!
Final Thoughts….
Videoing in the condo may be difficult – everything has a layer of glass so the glare will be hard to work around. I will try to post a video unpacking my bag cause I’m quite proud of all the stuff I got in it!!! And, I’ll need an idea how it all goes BACK in!
My Paper Share/Ribbon Share will be posted later this week for registration. This is an AWESOME WAY to get a taste of every product without costing an arm and a leg! It also gives you a chance to see the DSPs and ribbons up close to see which ones you HAVE to have versus which ones you can pass on. Be watching for details!!
Here’s hoping you have a great Sunday and enjoy some crafting along the way!!! Until tomorrow – God Bless!!!
