Isn’ it amazing how stamping and paper crafting bring so many connections of friendship??? In the 11+ years of papercrafting, I’ve met new people who have become some of my dearest friends, reconnected with dear friends who we had lost contact with, and old friends who have gone from casual friendships to treasured friends.
That’s the case with Johnna Bixenman Clarke and me. We first met at the small Catholic school in our town of Macon. We played duets for the students’ weekly mass – her on the organ, me on the piano. That’s the way it was before I joined the staff, and hey – Lutheran here!!! Not gonna rock that Catholic thing like Martin Luther!! I was trying to figure at the whole mass format. Somewhere within a few months something happened that had us switch up the instruments and that’s how it stayed for 5 years. We became very close, but when we both ended up moving to different schools, we lost track. Fast forward 30+ years and we connected again over STAMPS, INK, and PAPER!!

AND, A Great Tip For Matching Your Cardstocks!
So, do you struggle remembering the shades of our color collections???? Johnna shared with us that she cuts a small mat AND LABELS it with the color name of every coordinating color in the DSP package. Then she paperclips the mats together and stores them with the DSP package so she can quickly run through the mats to see which color looks the best with each DSP pattern. Great tip JB!!! OR JBC now that you are married!
Final Thoughts…..
Papercrafting and stamping helped me so much when I retired from teaching in a community 30 miles away. I needed peeps to connect with in my hometown. I do not know what I would do without my stamping friends. We have been together thru all stages of life – marriage, babies, breakups, death, – as well as surgeries, illness, and life-changing events. That includes not only the friends in person but ALSO the ones I have connected with far away – from most all states and even as far away as Austria. And I have Stampin’ Up to thank.
Have a great day, stay warm and happy, and God Bless!!!
