What a beautiful day to celebrate moms!!! We are experiencing spring here in northeast Missouri with temps in the lower 70’s this afternoon. Yesterday I worked in one of my flower beds and it was so nice to finally be able to spend time outside without freezing. Of course, Monday we will move into summer with temps in the 90’s several days!! Mother Nature is playing with us!!! We made our annual trip to my favorite greenhouse – Cedar Lane in Blackburn – and somewhere between leaving home and getting there I caught the flower bug because somehow I ended up with a full truck bed of annuals for my pots. Jim didn’t get by easy with my flower bill this year like I thought he might!
A Simple Mother’s Day Card Using The Fabulous Frames!
By cutting the DSP from Tea Boutique to the size of 4 and 1/8 by 5 and 3/8 I was able to skip a background mat. Taking that DSP panel, I cut off 3 inches, and flipped the smaller piece over to show the petal pink gingham check. The Mother’s Day greeting came from the Daffodil Daydream stamp set, and the flower images are from the Sending Smiles stamp set in the new annual catalog. For the greeting label, I cut two frames from the Fabulous Frames Dies – a great stand alone die! – and inserted the white panel inside the petal pink for the flowers and greeting!
Missing Mom
It’s days like today I miss my mom dearly. Very practical minded, matter of fact, she took pride in caring for her children, her husband and her home. She had a dry sense of humor with a twinkle in her eye and without a doubt she made the most wonderful apple dumplings around. She didn’t get a chance to meet my grand daughters or to see our son get married, but before she left us she made sure to have baby quilts made for them – just in case Megan and Evan had children. She was always thinking like that. Happy Mother’s Day in Heaven Mom! I love you! (and I can hear her answer back “love you too” which was her response always.)
God Bless and Happy Mother’s Day!

Such a pretty lady! I ended reading this article with sweaty eyes as I think our mom’s would have really liked each other. Happy Mom’s Day to you!
