Ok, we all make mistakes if you paper craft – cutting mats too small, dropping the stamp on a die cut accidentally, stamping crooked, or getting ink on your fingers then transferring to your card. It happens to all of us, and sometimes there’s nothing to do other than throw it out and start again!
But, on occasion, you CAN FIX an issue!!! This is what happened to me earlier this week!

I wanted to use the paw print strip as an accent on my card, but it needed to be shortened. I thought – no problem! I have this under control – only to have cut it TOO SHORT! At first I was thinking I needed to throw it out and cut a second strip.

BUT what if I snip it in half????? By doing so, I have two pieces that I can glue to the card front and hide the area where the strip was too short.

DONE!!!!! I lined the two strip up evenly, starting at the outside of the DSP mat, with the gap now being in the middle – which will be covered with the square dies!!!!

No one would even know that I made a mistake!!! The squares cover the gap in the middle of the die strip, the ends are perfectly lined up with the outside of the DSP mat, and I didn’t have to throw it out and start again!!!

Megan sent this pic of the girls yesterday, and we got such a kick out of it I wanted to share. They are having Spirit week in honor of Teacher Appreciation, and yesterday was “dress like your favorite teacher” Day. Obviously Nora went as one of the teachers who has no hair, and Fiona went as the Vice Principal. Megan said that the Vice Principal – who’s unofficial title is “Chaos Coordinator” – emailed to tell her that he spit out his coffee when Fiona marched into the office and asked if it was time to do the morning announcements!
Fiona is precocious, BUT I’m positive there were a couple of teachers coaching her and egging her on! Because, that’s the kind of thing I WOULD HAVE DONE!
If you’ve yet to thank a teacher for their service to our children and community, find time to do so!
Have a great day and I’ll be back tomorrow with one more Cutest Crew card!!! God Bless!
