Can you believe we are already talking about the JUNE Paper Pumpkin kit????? It’s hard to believe we are quickly zooming to the middle of 2026!

I became a bit nostalgic recently while working with the bicycle paper in the Waterside Retreat package. Years ago we use to log miles riding bikes! I had a bright blue Schwinn bike with white trim, a basket and white tassels hanging from the handlebars. We had a hill in our yard and I rode down that grassy hill multiple times learning to balance and pedal. Hop off the bike, push it back up the hill, then repeat the downhill motion. Before long I was riding up and down our street. We had very little traffic so it was a great place to practice and gather confidence. My bike took me all over my hometown, especially during the summertime. We rode bikes to the library weekly, to the neighborhood grocery store, to piano lessons, and to friend’s houses.

Eventually I moved up to a 10 speed bike in gold metallic with a black seat. The basket disappeared and was replaced with a clip carrier behind the seat and there was no way I was having tassels on that bike! The next change arrived with 4 wheels and a driver’s license. I drove to school daily, and we STILL road all over town, but it was cruising at night. Pretty sure my father would not have allowed that cruising with the gas prices of today!!
