Good morning friends, and let’s hope you are in area away from the heat wave hitting us, or you have access to air conditioning!!! Temps are suppose to be record breaking unfortunately. When days like this happen, it’s nice to be a crafter where you can just go to your mental happy place and forget the weather outside!
I’ve been focused on the Playful Packaging Dies that are coming in July with the next Online Exclusive product drop and they’ve been fun to create with. We’ve played with Halloween, 4th of July and back to school, so today we are backtracking to Valentine’s Day!

Treat bag toppers can be as involved or as easy as you like – remember, it’s NOT the treat! But those treats sure look cuter with the added packaging! Toppers can be cut out of card stock or scraps of DSP such as I did above. Throw the two pieces into a cute embossing folder, then add some die cut hearts and a cute label, some ribbon or bling, and voila – done!

These little treat bag ideas are the reason I got into Stampin’ Up! all those years ago. As a teacher, I was never able to be a home room parent for my children, so I wanted to create little treats for the grandbabies to give out at school. This is one of my favorite pics of Nora handing out her Valentine treat bags because of the back ground story. I know the photo quality is not good, but can you check out those giant Gold Fish bags for the tiny pillow box treat bag????
I got the treat bags made but ran out of time to buy and finish the treat. Megan assured me that she would take care of it, so trusting mom here assumed she would. Fast forward to Valentine’s Day and the preschool posted the above photo of Nora distributing her treats on their website (grandparents could be approved for preschool photo ops). That was NOT how I intended the treats to look!
That night Megan assured us she had gotten the treats finished and Nora took them to school. And she didn’t lie, but she was BUSTED when I sent the preschool photo, and yes, some choice language came out of her mouth! Her husband had bought the wrong size treat, so Megan simply took the stapler and attached the treat bag to the package! She considers a stapler to be one of the best tools for crafting ever. From there on I made sure to get the treats finished completely!
Final Thoughts…..
Pool Boy and I are gearing up for another adventure during the first week of July. I’ll be packing the suitcase again later today, but there are several things already inside – gloves and ear muffs for both of us. NOT what you would expect for the temps we are experiencing this week! Check back mid week to see where our next trip is, and I’ll be back for my final PLAYFUL PACKAGING project tomorrow. Please stay cool, please stay safe, and take advantage of days such as this to simply create and craft. Until next time, God Bless!!!
