Pool Boy and I must have bad luck when it comes to checking out mountains in National Parks. Most of the time, we do NOT see the incredible mountain views we want to see, due to rainy and misty weather. When we visited Denali National Park years ago – it was rainy, misty, and foggy. No beautiful mountain view. When we visited Cadillac Mountain in Acadia – rainy, misty, and foggy again. No gorgeous view to be had. We’ve never seen Clingman’s Dome in the Smoky Mountains because – rainy, misty, and yucky. Even Waimea Canyon (granted, not a mountain, but a 3600 foot gorge) it was rainy, misty, and foggy.
So is it any surprise that our day at Mount Rainier National Park would be rainy, misty, and foggy? Nope!!!! But did it stop us??? Nope!!!
