Yesterday we celebrated Pool Boy’s birthday, and so many of you reached out with greetings for his special day. We celebrated with our son Evan and his family, who treated us to a delicious meal of cajun pasta which was fabulous! Megan and her family will be in tonight for the weekend and the celebration will continue. Today’s my birthday as well – go figure, a married couple with back to back birthdays! – and I started the day opening cards.

On the bottom of the pile was a card with Pool Boy’s handwriting, and of course his message inside had me in tears, but there was no doubt where the card came from —– he turns to Pam every time he needs a card!!! And I am thankful for her and her cards!
I’ve often thought it would be a great service to our male friends to offer a card service like “Greeting Cards From Guys To Gals” where you have an annual card service plan. Like, 6 homemade greeting cards for birthday, anniversary, Christmas, Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day, and one optional of their choice provided for $25 or $30. They never have to go to Wally World to pick a card, it’s always provided in time for the celebration, they simply sign it and give it! Don’t you think that would be a fun thing to offer????

And, yesterday I received an early birthday gift from our friend Johnna – this cup is PERFECT!!!! I love Diet Coke and when you pair it with Dr. Seuss, it’s a winner! Thanks friend!! AND her card said I was the “real thing!”
FYI – if you’ve never heard this before, McDonald’s has the best Diet Coke for sure! Just mark my words – it’s the best. I went by McD’s Tuesday morning before bible study though and was informed “no sodas available because they were out of CO2.” WHAT???? I ended up going to another fast food drive thru, the cost was $3.49 compared to McD’s cost of $1.89, AND the quality was not McD standard. What a downer to the start of the day!
I’ll be back on Monday, but for the remainder of today and the weekend, it’s birthday celebration time. Our friend RoseMary said I should have a BIRTHDAY SEASON like her – the month before your birthday is the wind-up month, then your birthday month, followed by the wind-down month, and you can extend your birthday for three months! I think that is a great idea! Don’t agree???
Until then, have a great day doing whatever makes you happy, and God Bless!!!
