Before I head out to the last day of the crop for me (some will continue through noon tomorrow) I wanted to share a few pics from my floral containers. Over 10 years ago I went through the Master Gardening program for our state and I encourage you to look into your state’s extension program and see what their master gardening program offers.
I found that my favorite part of gardening was my floral containers. I’ve had as many as 60 pots and containers through our yards and decks over the years. For the past couple of years though I have limited my containers to those on our decks and drive areas. Can you see a connection between my paper crafting and gardening?? I love rich tones, strong contrast of colors, LOTS of texture and layering.
Corals are some of my favorite colors and I love the pairing of different shades of greens with it. Can you see Poppy Parade, Garden Green, and Parakeet Party as a color combo?? I can already see a beautiful card with these colors!!!
I have always planned my containers with the theme of Thrillers, Fillers, and Spillers. And over the years Jim and I have picked up so many items for the garden – wire baskets and topiaries, statuary, benches and shelving. Many of our vacation trips home had items such as these stuffed in the back of the truck! Heck, we even brought a truck load of wicker furniture home from Myrtle Beach!
And Then the succulents – I am very lucky that Jim introduced me to some classmates years ago that have an awesome greenhouse. Cedar Lane Greenhouse in Blackburn, MO has such wonderful plants, containers, and AWESOME SUCCULENTS!!! OMG!! This is just a couple of her creations. If you are ever in the area please check out this wonderful greenhouse gem.
I hope you have enjoyed a few of my garden jewels. I have thoroughly enjoyed the days at the crop – it has given me a chance to catch up on some projects like past paper pumpkin kits, setting up my new Stampin Up journal, getting another scripture journal ready to offer for August, and it’s been awesome sitting there working while enjoying music with one of my incentive gifts from Stampin’ Up – Airpods! I had to really work yesterday remembering do NOT sing or hum along since I’m in a room with others!
Have a wonderful weekend – stay cool and safe – and spend some time in your happy place, whether garden and yard or craft room. Whatever gives you joy!!! God Bless!
