Morning everyone!!! I will be popping in and out of the house for the next three days while participating in a local crop here in our hometown. I’ve pulled out my products for the Botanical Layers Pop Up Class – which, at the time of this writing, only has 4 spots remaining – along with a couple of smaller projects to work on tomorrow, then will adjust for the remaining two days. Many people enjoy visiting and chatting during crops, and I’m good with that as well, but I’m equally happy to simply sit and work, and sometimes I even have my earbuds in. Not trying to be unsociable, but I’m not being visually bombarded with all of the stuff on my workdesk that’s not been put away either! I truly try to keep my area tidy – I mean well! But for some reason, I just can’t seem to do it!

Today’s card follows the same layout as yesterday’s seagull card but with a feminine theme. I love monochromatic cards because they are so easy to design and create, knowing the colors are going to blend together well. Of course Night of Navy is one of my all time favorite colors to work with, and I love pairing it with Boho Blue. The stamp set is Spotlight On Nature, with die cuts from both the Nested Essentials and Stylish Shapes die sets. Throw in a touch of Basic White and you have a beautiful card that will be appreciated and loved.
To get the 3D effect on the butterfly, I stamped and fussy cut two images. I trimmed the antennea off of one of the butterflies, and adhered it flat to the basic white square. With the second butterfly I folded along the body, and added glue to this very small section. Offset it just a tiny bit, and adhere the body of the top butterfly to the one glued down on the square. The top butterfly’s wings are able to move, so you totally get the 3D thing!
I stamped the leaf image on the top and bottom of the card base front with Boho Blue, then centered the DSP panel in the middle versus yesterday’s with the panel positioned higher. Add the simple White White ribbon, and what I think is the prettiest gem available – the two tone sparkle gems! If you’ve not checked these out get on line and see them because they are beautiful!
Spring Retreat Date Is Set For Saturday, March 29!!!!!
We set our date for the spring retreat and it will be available both in person and online. I know several have asked about having a retreat later in the summer when weather is better for travelling, and we still haven’t ruled that out. Pam and I will be doing some talking about it because several of our stamping friends from miles away would love to come and participate. I’ll keep you updated on how both are going, but for now add the 29th of March to your calendar!!
Until tomorrow, have a great day doing whatever makes you happy, and God Bless!!!
