Funny thing about our habit of using Google Maps or any other cellphone map app. We are so used to following it, BUT we forget that some of those smaller highways in the middle of nowhere may not have the best cellphone coverage We were travelling on Highway 1North – Maine’s coastal highway – BUT it’s easy to get off track when the cell towers are in and out of coverage! After making a complete circle – granted, only 3-5 miles so not bad – and Jim recognized the same Holstein cow again, we went back to old school, paper map as a backup to Google! LOL!

Here’s a view from the bridge driving across to the island of Acadia National Park. Yesterday was a good day for driving, and unfortunately rain is due today, but we will still get out and drive the park and see the views. Pool Boy said we probably missed the peak of the leaf season by a week, but there’s still plenty of color to see, especially when the sun shines on the trees.

Many of the homes we passed were decorated with Halloween images of scarecrows, ghosts hanging from the trees, and this impressive black cat with the glowing eyes. Pumpkins, mums, and cornstalks are everywhere, no matter the name of the town we drove through.

And as much as I enjoyed Monday night’s lobster roll, this lobster grilled cheese surpassed it! So delicious! We ended up eating at Beal’s Lobster Pier because I knew Pool Boy was looking forward to scallops for dinner, and Beal’s had several dishes for him to choose from. Unfortunately they were sold out! I was hoping they would have more tomorrow so we could come back, but no – they were sold out for THE YEAR! We are on the end of the tourist season, with several restaurants already closed so pretty sure the scallops are going to be a no show for him. He’s requested donuts today, and that may also be a challenge, but I’ll keep looking!!

Just a quick reminder that free shipping begins today and runs through Friday. I’m totally out of envelopes, and my basic white/very vanilla card stock stash is low, so you can bet I’ll take advantage of the free shipping to help me save.
Here’s hoping we have a break in the weather today for our Acadia drive, and I’m hoping I can find Pool Boy donuts as well! Until then, keep crafting, keep stamping, and God Bless!
