These past two weeks have been absolutely loaded with work, but the end is in sight with tonight’s in person Bingo for the new annual catalog. We had a great night with the Speed Bingo and the cards these gals shared were over the top. Yesterday all of the goody bags were mailed out, along with several other items. Tutorials have been typed and emailed, so we can mark the Online Speed Bingo/Fancy Fun Fold event done!
Tonight’s goody bags are packaged and waiting for the make and takes to tuck inside. Whereas the online bingo is a product based goody bag (they received a full package of the Thoughtful Journeys DSP and gems, along with a class) our in person goody bag is a package of DSP and coordinating cardstock. We select three DSPs, divide them into 4×6 pieces, then pack each with cardstock, so the bags have about 70 sheets of card bases ready to create with. BOTH bingos have great swag but since they are different we have many people who sign up for both. Tomorrow we begin wrapping up the paper/ribbon shares!!!
Tonight’s event will include make and takes, which can be difficult to design. We have to look at what new products we have enough of to provide everyone materials, but what can we do to prep ahead to make the assembly quick and easy. I wanted to be sure everyone saw the new basic beige so the DSP is from the Country Lace package, and I used basic beige to stamp the images. The Peach Pie cardstock and ribbon are from our new In Color selection which are awesome, and the stampset bundle Spotlight On Nature is my absolute favorite in the new catalog!!! I love the images and the circle dies are some of the best dies ever. More classes and stamping events coming with this great bundle.
Final Thoughts…..
Last night I had the opportunity to gather with the staff from South Shelby Elementary – this is the district I spent so many years teaching – to honor one of the co-workers retiring. Cara Wilt (left in photo) is an incredible teacher that will be deeply missed by the school district. We taught together over 20 years, and had many laughs and tears through that time. Her daughter Jarah (whom I had from Kindergarten on) has just recently graduated from college and is following her mom’s footsteps as an elementary educator. Cara’s mom Virginia Holder (or as her kindergarteners use to say – Mth Hoduh!. Very few /s/, /l/, and /r/ at that age!) and I taught together many years before her retirement. I’ve been blessed to know this incredible family of teachers, both as co-workers and student, and they HAVE and WILL touch the lives of many through their teaching.
Shelby County R-4 has been deeply blessed to have this trio of ladies as part of the school family. Best wishes to Cara on her retirement, Jarah on her future school year ahead, and Virginia as you see the next generation of your family following in your footsteps.
Here is hoping you have a great teacher who made an impact in your life, and if you can, send them a CARD telling them so. God Bless!!!
