Several months ago I added a monthly class to my schedule that focuses on techniques. My ladies are all experienced stampers who simply want to try different ways to “up their stamping” game so to speak. We usually do three projects – two are techniques with different mediums, and the third is a more involved fun fold. When we first met I provided them with a small journal, and each month we meet I type up the directions AND provide a small piece of cardstock with the technique used so they have not only the steps to recreate the project but also an example to look at for future reference.
Yesterday we focused on blender pens and created the card above using the white wash technique. I have never been a fan of our white craft ink pad. Pretty sure I’ve purchased it multiple times, tried and pitched when I didn’t get the result I wanted!!! I have a habit of doing that – hence me purchasing the simply scored tool 3 times! LOL!!! BUT I have come to LOVE the refill bottle for the white craft ink!!!! Using simply that and the blender pen I was able to create this stunning flower on this card. The gals were busy working and not talking at all. I’m thinking – they don’t like this????? Nope, they loved it and found it relaxing to do. As my team member Johnna told me “If we are quiet we are enjoying it, if we don’t like it we talk to avoid doing it!!” LOL.
Final Thoughts…
I have a couple of others who have shown interest in being part of a second Techniques class. I keep this class limited to no more than 6 participants so we have plenty of room to work and and are not waiting to use materials, etc. After each person has attended 6 classes – and they do NOT have to be consecutive – you will receive a $20 credit for your choice of Stampin’ Up product. Class fee is a minimum $25 order and I do ask that participants have some experience with stamping since we don’t focus on basics. Please contact me if you are interested in participating. These ladies all drive from other towns with one person from Macon, so we meet during the afternoon BUT a second class could be an evening one if that works better for everyone.
We have had a BUSY week but these last couple of days are all about our upcoming retreat on Saturday! There is still lots to do but we have knocked out so much and I’m looking forward to gathering with my crafting friends for a day of stamping, chatting, and eating! Pool Boy Jim is cooking his Mexican Lasagna and it’s a winner!!!!!
Until tomorrow, keep crafting, keep stamping, and God Bless!!!!
