HELLO EVERYONE and welcome to Friday!!!! I always loved the giddy feeling of arriving at the final workday of the week, and to have a beautiful summer weekend ahead of us – double giddy!!
So, as a elementary music teacher it was my job to expose children to all sorts of musical genres so they had an appreciation of musical cultures throughout the world. We want our students to have an acceptance and appreciation of all kinds of music. I remember one “highly popular” music textbook series that was so diverse in other cultures that they didn’t include patriotic songs of our country! LOL! Teachers were not happy and that “highly popular” textbook series soon realized their mistake and replaced with a new edition! Thank goodness my music textbook rotation was several years later!!!
Using The Patchwork Pieces Dies For A Patriotic Background!
I’ve played with multiple color combos this week, but today I went with probably my favorite of Cherry Cobbler, Night Of Navy, and Very Vanilla with a TOUCH of gold foil. I love how elegant and simple this card turned out with the patriotic patchwork colors embossed with the Tinworn Type embossing folder.
I paired the dies with greetings from Handmade Hugs, Biggest Wish, and Alphabest to create appropriate greetings. Even the STARS came from Alphabest!
Final Thoughts….
I hope you have enjoyed my “thinking outside of the box” to create patriotic cards. Just because Stampin’ Up doesn’t have a stamp set with bottle rockets, sparklers, and fireworks in their catalog means you can’t celebrate the holiday with some homemade cards!!! Tomorrow I will be sharing some wonderful framed decor pieces that one of our team members brought to our team meeting. So creative, you will love them!!!!
And if you are ever in Washington D.C. at the Smithsonian make an effort to see the “Original” Flag that flew over Fort McKenry and inspired the poem written by Francis Scott Key, which we now know as The Star Spangled Banner. My absolute favorite exhibit of all.
But Dorthy’s ruby slippers and Inidiana Jone’s leather coat ranks right behind it! LOL!!!
Have a great weekend everyone, and God Bless!!!!
