OOPS!!! In case you missed yesterday’s post it’s because I forgot to click PUBLISH!!!
Here’s a question for you – are you a cranberry relish fan????? And if the answer is yes, is it homemade or from the can???? My sister always loved the cranberry gel gunk from the can, and Mom and I preferred the cranberry orange relish. So, we always had a choice when it came to the cranberries.
Later this morning my food processor will be busy grinding up the fresh cranberries as well as a whole orange – peel and everything. Once that is done, I’ll add sugar and cook on the stove. Some like it raw, but not me. I simmer it on the stove to dissolve the sugar and soften the berries. This relish will keep for several weeks in the fridge. Oceanspray used to sell it, but obviously it was just Mom and me who bought it so they took it off the shelf years ago. But not that slimy gel gunk! It’s still being churned out for consumption.
Actually, I LOVE anything with cranberries, my favorite being cranberry-orange scones as well as cranberry-white chocolate cookies. Such a treat! So, when we went grocery shopping three bags of cranberries jumped into our cart! LOL!

Final Thoughts….
So, while I finish today’s post I hear my sous chef Pool Boy already grinding the cranberries and orange. He’s moving on to dicing onion and celery for the dressing, and anything else he can prep for tomorrow’s feast. He loves sweet potatoes and when we unloaded the groceries yesterday I think there were10 POUNDS of them carried in. First thing tomorrow he will have both the white and sweet potatoes peeled and soaking in water. So, yes, we do serve TWO different kinds of potatoes for Thanksgiving.
BUT only ONE cranberry dish!!! Until next time, happy crafting, happy feasting, and God Bless!
