First thing – I have such an awesome hubby!!! I was so frustrated trying to type yesterday’s post with a lifeless, wireless mouse and even had to move it away from where I was typing because I kept forgetting it was dead and reached for it more times than I could count. Today, Pool Boy Jim had the battery replaced and ready to go!!! People, he’s the best for putting up with me. He probably was also tired of me gritching and saying not nice things about the dang wireless mouse! Better to get it fixed then listen to another night of me being frustrated and talking to myself as I try to type the post! LOL
Three Purple Shades In Our Purple Family!
When I was first introduced to Stampin’ Up about 11 years ago, the Neutral family was just that – neutral. Very little color in the collection besides browns, black, and shades of gray. Do you remember the colors of Chocolate Chip and River Rock????? So when the first Color Refresh came along, the Neutral Family took on a WHOLE NEW LOOK. Basic Black moved out and joined Basic White and Very Vanilla. In moved shades such as Night Of Navy, Merry Merlot, and Mossy Meadow. With the revamping and additions of more color to the Neutral family Stampin’ Up was able to fill these slots with more colors to work with. If you remember Chocolate Chip and River Rock, you probably remember our Purple family of Wisteria Wonder and Elegant Eggplant which didn’t make the cut with the first Color Refresh.

So, Fresh Freesia has been around for 2 years as an In Color, but now it takes a more permanent spot with Highland Heather and Gorgeous Grape. Fresh Freesia has a softer tone with shades of pink mixed in. It’s a good contrast with our other purple shades, but can play nicely with Bubble Bath as well. Putting the three shades together, I realize Highland Heather has blue tones mixed in, so I would skip it and use the Fresh Freesia with Gorgeous Grape. Gorgeous Grape has moved from the Brights Collection into the Regals Collection because Blackberry Bliss moved into the Neutrals Collection. See how it works???? This shifting of colors makes room for additional ones and keeps our collection fresh and trendy. Sorry about not including Blackberry Bliss in this purple collection – I was running short of time trying to gather materials to bring on the trip for posting, and totally forget it was a remaining color!!!
Final Thoughts…
FYI – I didn’t find my yellows chart so will be interesting when I get home – bet it’s laying on my desk there. Tomorrow’s post is a culmination of this week’s shades put together in a simple card design. I stamped the same card with the Brown shades, the Purple shades, the Blue Hues, and the Pinks to give you an idea how they work together for monochromatic cards. Sorry, no Green card to share because I truly ran out of time and Pool Boy was ready to leave. We’ve had a great week away but it’s always nice to return back home. As Dorothy says – there’s no place like home. So until tomorrow, keep stamping, crafting, and God Bless!!!

The color comparison has been really great. Helped me to get a feel of the true colors. In fact, I’ve shared it with many friends. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you!!! I’m glad you’ve enjoyed my posts this week – hard to plan a week of posts while travelling without bringing gobs of supplies. If you are a FB gal please look for me on FB and follow me – feel free to tell your friends the same!
