With our travels during October my friend Pam Cosby and I were absent from a couple of FB LIVES on our group page Stamp. Ink. Paper – Creating With Pam And Lola. In fact, we were rather rusty last night going live!!!LOL That’s ok though, because we are far from perfect and we are real and unscripted!
Last night’s theme was centered around something from our travels. Pam spent the week in Tennessee enjoying Pidgeon Forge and the fall scenery, and I was across “the pond” and chose to concentrate on Swiss Chocolate! Quite the combo, right?
Creating With Nothing Better Than…
If you have never had chocolate from Switzerland then you have never had chocolate. There is a creaminess to their chocolates that doesn’t exist in Hersheys, Nestles, or Mars! And this coming from a chocolate kiss fan! Their stores are gorgeous with the chocolate displays and there is even a Museum of Chocolate to tour! I used the stamp set Nothing Better Than… which is a Million Dollar designed set from Connie Stewart and it is so her – she loves a more retro look and the images and fonts reflect that in the design.
Adding A Touch Of Shimmer To The Chocolates!
Can you see the shine and shimmer on certain images in the picture above??? I wanted that finished touch, so after coloring the chocolates with the blends (and several of the tones were from the Skintone collection) I covered the image with Versa Mark and Clear Embossing Powder, then heat set with our heating tool. To create the shine on the word chocolate, I FIRST used Versa Mark and the clear Embossing Powder on a SCRAP of CARDSTOCK, heat set it, THEN used the diecut to cut out the word. MUCH EASIER to emboss before cutting!
Pam’s Card Of Beautiful Foliage!
Pam decided to select one of her photos to recreate. By using mats with her stamps and sponge daubers she was able to recreate the beautiful fall colors – not an easy task when you look at the layers and variety of color shades! She did an awesome job though!
Link To Our FB LIVE!!!
Pam and I have been doing weekly FB LIVES for a private group page since the spring of Covid. It started as a way to stay in touch and connect with our stamping friends, but has really developed into our therapy time together! Between family commitments, jobs and stamping events this is our only time together besides church. There are weeks when we just need a break, and there are nights when things don’t work out quite like we want but we are what we are!! If you want perfectly edited recordings that’s not going to happen with us! We started small with our group page and have grown to several hundred like minded paper crafting friends.
