Sharing The Love At Our Local Hospital!

Yesterday we spent time at our local hospital creating valentine cards for the staff and employees. I have to say it was so nice to sit and visit and craft for three hours. I did lots of prep ahead of time with all the mats adhered to the cards, sentiments stamped inside, hundreds of die cuts and punches ready to go. We simply folded the cards and decorated the front with hearts and labels. Oh, and bling, cause how can you make Valentine cards without bling????

I used the basic white notecard/envelope packages and pre-stamped 120 cards and envelopes. We ended up with 9 or 10 cards remaining, so over 100 cards were picked up by the staff. And of course, we tempted them with chocolate kisses as well! I will make another 10 cards this weekend, then take those and the remaining cards back to the hospital for patient tray favors closer to Feb. 14.

The color combo of Basic White, Flirty Flamingo, Real Red, and Poppy Parade was used for mats, hearts, etc. The Made With Love DSP works well with all three colors, and has cute patterns. We turned to some of our older heart punches for quick work when we ran out of die cuts. Remember all those extra Real Red Hearts that Pool Boy cut earlier in the week? Put to good use and almost gone!!!

Projects like this are so much more enjoyable when you have a friend to share it with. Thank you Arlene for coming and helping!!! I could have sat there by myself, BUT IT WOULDN’T BE NEARLY as much fun and enjoyable!!! Those three hours went by quickly, and we had a good visit with each other and the staff as they stopped by!

That just left sorting and putting everything away, and I decided that would be a great task for the next day, so now you know what’s on the agenda after typing this post! A nap sounded much better yesterday afternoon when I got home from the hospital!
