Most of you know we had a busy week taking care of Toddler Calvin while waiting for his baby brother to arrive. He was so very good and we enjoyed having him, but you forget how much energy is packed into that little body! And at the end of the evening after he’s gone to sleep you turn to the Ibuprofen bottle to help ease your aches and pains from chasing, carrying, wrestling, and everything else that happened through the day!
Baby brother arrived late Thursday and we were excited to take Cal down to meet him on Friday. Cal was a bit more excited to see his mommy and daddy instead. Baby Benjamin Reed arrived on 10/24 weighing 8 lb. 7 oz. and is just the perfect size to cuddle!!! And because we were asked yesterday at church, he is NOT named after Andy Reid, but if you want to think that it’s ok with Papa Pool Boy and me! LOL!
Quilts For Lutheran World Relief
Enough on babies, and on to sharing your talents with others!!! Look at this beautiful photo of our church sanctuary draped with these handmade quilts! We have a group of ladies who gather monthly to cut, sew, and tie these quilts, and this year’s total was over 40 quilts they completed. Funds for the quilts begin with a yearly grant, but others donate materials and money to help fund the annual project. Once they are delivered to Lutheran World Relief they are distributed where needed. I love the day the quilts are displayed in church. Beautiful patterns stitched together by talented hands used in service.
How do you share your talents with others??? Other church projects include the Blessings Card ministry, the Sunday School greeting card ministry for our elderly, weekly meals prepared and delivered to our elderly, and this coming weekend we are having a large craft sale/general store/carryin in meal to support a family with recent adoption expenses. Several of my close stamping friends recently made several hundred Christmas cards to include with the Meals On Wheels program for distribution in December. One of our friends makes cards monthly to sell in the hospital gift store, then donates all the funds to Hospital Guild. Two of our friends have sold cards for years, then donated all the funds to support Alzheimer’s research in honor of their step-father.
We could go on and on about ways to share your talents. I’ve not even touched the surface so do some thinking about how you can share your talents, then take action and do so!!! Turn your idea into action and you will be glad you did! I will be back tomorrow to share today’s FB LIVE project and to get back to STAMPING!!! Until next time, God Bless!!!
