What an eclectic title for today’s post! Even though it was lightly freezing this morning we still headed south, on our trip to New Orleans, first stop in Saint Louis to drop off Shelby. She’s not the best traveller because she’s antsy and on the move, from front seat to back, person to person, but lucky for us she decided to curl up on the floor and rode the majority of the trip there. PROBABLY because the food bag with crackers was right there and there would be no way of opening them without her knowing! Where there is food, you will find Shelby.
We are staying Wednesday night just outside of Memphis at Horn Lake. Several years ago Pool Boy decided he wanted to have BBQ at the Memphis BBQ Company, and it was such a great choice we are here again. I would have liked to have posted a picture of the food, but unfortunately we were half way through dinner before it came to mind! But I WILL post a picture of dessert!

When we travel to the south I’m always on the look out for two desserts – either key lime pie or banana pudding. I rarely make banana pudding at home cause it makes too much, and Mrs. Edward’s key lime pie for the freezer is darn tasty so why make fresh, but southern restaurants are always proud of these two desserts, and I am happy to give them a try. This pudding is tucked away in the room fridge until later tonight since we are still stuffed from dinner.
Tomorrow we have about a 6 hour drive to our house on Lake Catherine just outside of New Orleans in Slidell, Louisiana. We will head to downtown New Orleans and Mardi Gras World on Friday. We’ve already ran into Chief fans at the restaurant, the hotel, even the gas station in the Missouri boothill. And it’s not hard to tell we are Chief fans since all four of us are sporting Chief apparel. We will only wear Chief gear on this trip – if it doesn’t say KC or have an arrowhead on the shirt, we didn’t pack it.

And to wrap up today’s post, I wanted to share the most recent photo of our two little boys! Cal is quite the toddler at the age of 2, and sweet Ben is just over 3 months old. He has eyes and smiles for his mommy, that’s for sure! Pretty sure these two will give their parents a run for their money several years from now.
More pictures tomorrow, but until then have a great day, enjoy whatever makes you happy, and God Bless!

❤️❤️❤️ I love the food, the dog, and the boys. Doesn’t get much better than that.
