I will be missing in action until Sunday morning since we are shifting into cleaning and preparing for our Coronation Tea on Saturday. What, you may ask, is a Coronation Tea????? Well let me tell ya – my mind thought “let’s have a little tea cup party with the Tea Boutique Suite – we will make a few cards, and I will ask my dear friend Maureen to hostess and serve cream puffs!!!” Sounds lovely, right???
SCRATCH the cards because we have gone from a “little tea party” to a full blown Coronation Tea in honor of the upcoming Coronation of King Charles at the Estate of Lord and Lady Rist!!! Cream puffs have now turned into the full high tea menu of cucumber sandwiches (preciously cut in squares!), egg salad sandwiches (ever so carefully cut in rectangles), mini quiche and crab tortes, scones with clotted cream, all the way to petit fours, mini chocolate cakes, along with tea and champagne!!!! People – this is just HALF of the menu!!!
I gave Maureen the idea, and she has run with it!!! She has put together everything from invitations (which states hats are required, gloves are optional!), the delicious menu, and we are now using china, crystal, silver, doilies and linens, and it will be a hoot and a half!!! Pictures will be posted!!!! But with all of this high society shindig, lots of preparation and cleaning are needed and that is my focus for today!!!! I can promise though, this party will be wonderful and I am so thankful to have Maureen as one of my dearest and best friends ever. (Ask me tomorrow night AFTER this is over if I still feel this way! LOL!!!)
Pool Boy reminded me I have no one to blame but myself. I just wanted cream puffs on a pretty paper plate!!!! Time for this skullery maid to start cleaning!!!!
Ta Ta my darlings!
