I needed a couple of quick cards this morning to post, so I turned to the Lights Aglow DSP and allowed the DSP to shine through. It’s not easy stepping out of your comfort zone with paper crafting (my zone includes embossing folders, a few die cuts, layers of mats, ribbon and bling – it ALL works for me!) so today’s cards had me second guessing – don’t I need another contrasting mat??? Or maybe that Cherry Cobbler mat needs embossing??? How about a few gold gems to finish it off????
Nope – Nothing But The DSP And Gold!

The Lights Aglow DSP is stunning and may well be the favorite out of the mini catalog. This card began with me cutting the pattern page with the circles and squares into 3 inch squares. then, knowing that I needed the gold square to be no larger than 3 inches as well (simple math – 6×6 piece of paper gives you four 3 inch squares. If you cut the square 3 1/4 inches, you only get one square! Plan and cut your DSP carefully!) So that I could have a gold 3 inch square as a mat, I needed to cut the Lights Aglow piece smaller. I ended up taking a 1/8 inch strip off all 4 sides to reduce the size yet still kept the beauty of the design and giving a wider border for the gold to shine through!
