December was always one of my busiest months during the years of my teaching music in the public school system. I always made sure the Christmas trees – yes, I do plural! Four, but whose counting?? – and the majority of the decorations were up by Thanksgiving because there would be no time to do this once it was December 1. I wish I could say I was organized with my gift giving and packaging but that wasn’t the case. In fact, there were many years I put in hours around the 20th or even later wrapping gifts!
Check out the beautiful Scallop Boxes Stampin Up offers
So that’s why I’m so proud of myself today – it’s Sept. 30 and I have a gift already to go!!!! We sometimes give gift cards but they still deserve a pretty package to open. The scalloped kraft treat boxes from Stampin Up are perfect to tuck in a gift card or cash with delicious candies inside. The boxes are a 3 1/2 inch square, and have beautiful gold foil dots all around. Stampin Up offers multiple gift packaging ideas to use for anytime of the year and can be found on page 137 of the annual catalog.
The Details are in the Ribbon
Take a close look at the ribbon in the photo above and you can see the gold threads woven into the Cherry Cobbler ribbon, giving it a beautiful shimmer. So many times ribbons such as this are difficult to tie but this Cherry Cobbler and gold ribbon ties like a dream. You can find it in the mini holiday catalog as part of the Painted Christmas Suite.
Sponge Daubers are a necessity for every crafter!
I used the bundle Sparkle of the Season from the mini holiday catalog for the stamping and die cutting. The color combination of Cherry Cobbler, Shaded Spruce, and Soft Sea Foam makes for an unusual combination but with sponging on the Soft Sea Foam I was able to get a variegated look.
Dies add versatility to paper crafting!
By die cutting different stamped images in the stamp set I added interest and variety to the wreath. The gold berry sprigs were from the Peaceful Poinsettia dies that returned in our annual catalog this year and the red rhinestones were the perfect touch for holly berries.
So how do you prepare for Christmas????
How many of you have your gifts already purchased for Christmas? Do you wrap as you shop, or do you do the mad frantic wrapping night like me? Whichever you prefer, use Stampin Up to help you package and decorate for a special touch. Until next time, keep stamping, keep crafting, and God Bless!
