Swap Card Ideas From OnStage!

I have a confession (that I probably made a year ago at this time!) Today is my absolutely worst day of the year cause it’s the day of our tax appointment. I DREAD going to the accountant to do taxes, and I procrastinate EVERY year. Now understand, our accountant is a VERY nice lady we’ve gone to for years. As a former hospital administrator she gave me sage advice when dealing with my mother and the nursing home, inheritance tax, etc. I trust her completely but I sure hate to get ready to visit her and sit thru that appointment. And I’m positive she hates to see me come in because I have been known to cry upon hearing the verdict! She has to remind me to “breathe Lola – just breathe!”.

So today, you are getting pictures of the swap cards I received from OnStage using the Homemade Sweetness Suite. I ended up with 5 different card ideas – I rarely create the same card, BUT swaps are a great way to springboard your creativity by looking at layouts, color combinations, and product usage.

This card came from Julia Mazur, and I love the use of the bow and heart as an accent to the label. It’s not simply for the top of the canning jar lid! Also, she stamped the blueberries directly on the Misty Moonlight patterned DSP – another idea I’d not thought about.

This is a fun fold card created by Emily Kimmey from EMK Creations. Emily is NOT a fun fold person, and she told us it will probably be the only one she will do because it stressed her so! She simply used the jar die to create the flap for the card. And I like the use of her Misty Moonlight ink on the Strawberry Slush jar. I always go tone on tone, so just a different twist!

Kathy Alt from Kathy’s Stamping World designed the card above, and it’s basically the very same fun fold I created for one of my swaps. The cards look totally different, but it’s a great way to see how you can vary designs for different card perspectives.

This little square card simply uses 1/2 of the jar die on the card front, then it opens vertically for the inside greeting. I’d not thought of stamping the DSP though!!! See, just a different idea I can try in my designing. The card design came from Joy Nelson.

And my final card is one from my friend Tina Barela. Tina turned to the ladybug embossing folder that’s part of the suite, and now I’ve got to get it used! I’ve not used it once but doesn’t it create a cute background for this card? Add a label, a strip of the gingham patterned DSP, and the two berries makes a sweet and quick card to share with anyone.

I’ll be back tomorrow as long as I survive the dreaded tax appointment. Fingers crossed, I have everything I need and that it’s a painless session. I just need to breathe.
