What a beautiful week this has been!!! These sunny, warm days have allowed the house painters to do their work, and we are finally reaching the end of repairs from the May hailstorm. New roof, new gutters, new screens, new door, truck repaired, etc. The list was long and with the majority of the community dealing with the very same issues of repair, you simply had to wait for your turn.
Of course, the daylight savings time thing has caused some issues. Pool Boy and our handyman Bro (we are of no relation but he and I pick at each other so much people think we are siblings) were wanting to do a couple of repairs on the siding. Bro came over right after work but daylight was quickly fading and they were soon working with flashlights. (Imagine me closing my eyes and shaking my head here!) Working ON THE ROOF mind you with flashlights! But within an hour or so they were finished, off the roof, and no one hurt.
A Gathering Of Friends! Exactly What I Was Hoping For!!!
This was the first year we have had a Fall Retreat, AND people could come and go through the two days. Our numbers were smaller than the spring ones BUT we actually decided we liked it better because no one felt pressure trying to get to materials for their make and takes, etc. Along with our make and takes we offered a couple of add-on classes for those who didn’t want to bring things from home. We had sets of sisters, a set of cousins, good friends who have crafted for years, new friends to meet – it was perfect!
Here is a gallery of photos from the days. A few had either left or were gone so not everyone’s photo is featured and for that I’m sorry!!!
Mark Your Calendars! The ’24 Spring Retreat Is Scheduled!!!
Our Spring Retreat for ’24 is scheduled for March 22 and 23!!! We will again offer it for two days – you choose if you want to come one or both, because the price is the same either way!!! More info to come in January, but we would love you join us so be sure to write it in your calendar!!! Will Pool Boy be cooking??? I’m not sure – that is still to be decided!!!!
This was truly a Craft, Chat, and Chew kind of event – everyone working on their own things, but the discussions and visiting and laughter were a definite highlight!! Snacks were available so everyone could refuel as needed! Tell me, is there anything better than crafting, chatting, and snacking with a bunch of friends???
Ladies have been gathering like this for a LONG time! Supplies, crafts, and materials may have changed, but the important thing is still the same – friendship.
Until next time, have a great day that includes crafting, stamping, and God Bless!!!!!
