Good morning everyone and welcome to the start of a new week!!! We worked feverishly last Friday churning out as much prep as possible, since Online Speed Bingo is tonight AND the September Christmas Card Class is tomorrow. Throw in our Blessings card ministry for church and I cut over 400 cards, and it’s all laying on my dining room table waiting to be packaged. Today’s work is typing tutorials and packaging, with speed bingo tonight. Throw in a few hours of babysitting toddler Cal, church, and a dinner out with friends and it’s easy to see how the weekend flew by.
I want to spotlight Pam’s card today that she created for a make and take at our In Person Bingo a couple of weeks ago. Everything she used on this card is part of the Season Of Elegance Suite found in the Holiday Mini Catalog. The first think to catch my eye is the embossing of the tree background. I believe embossing folders were my first “WOW” with paper crafting – I loved seeing how the designs could easily up the creativity factor with a simple turn of the die cutting machine. Because of the reasonable cost AND ease of product, I went on a splurge buying every folder I could find, not only at Stampin’ Up but also Hobby Lobby and Michaels. I had quite the collection!
Next to catch the eye is the beautiful Season Of Elegance Specialty DSP Pam used to die cut the tree. This paper is stunning, so if it’s not made your wish list yet, look again!!! Finally, the Christmas die cut and the beautiful label are from the Peaceful Season Bundle included in the suite. I love tags and labels and will rarely miss ordering a set because you can use in so many projects. Don’t get me wrong, I love having coordinating dies for floral images, but they are very limited. Dies such as the Peaceful Season bundle can be used over and over with other stamps, making them very cost effective for paper crafting!
Saturday morning was rainy and yucky, so we spent our time with Cal inside. He and I had a painting session at the island working on his colors, then he spent some quality time watching the Blues Crew with Papa Pool Boy, or as Cal calls him “Bapa”. He will be staying with us a few nights in October when mom and dad are at the hospital with baby brother. He will be here soon!
Remember I mentioned having dinner out with friends?? We had reservations at the 1820’s Restaurant in Keytesville, MO several weeks ago with 3 other couples, BUT when two of the couples farm, it’s hard to predict whether you will be in or out of the fields due to weather and farm machinery being such a factor during the harvest season. Luckily, two other couples stepped in and yes, we are eating in a grain bin! Such a neat restaurant, with delicious food. Thanks to our friend Johnna Bixenman Clarke for introducing us to this establishment.
I will be back tomorrow to share my card from tonight’s Speed Bingo. Until then, find some time to create, to craft, and God Bless!!
