Life has been a hectic ride this past few days between school, football, and prepping for classes and bingo, and this week seems to be following the same pattern. We had a beautiful snowfall the end of last week with about 8 inches of white covering our ground. There is something about snowfalls and weather that forces us to stop, hunker down, and simply live in the moment while the weather does it’s thing outside. No where to go, no need to go, just rest, be still and try to enjoy life.
Kind of like our bulbs and perrenials in our winter gardens laying dormant in the ground – no where to go cause it’s too cold, just rest and be still- storing up energy to soon burst forth with beauty when spring arrives. You already know I have a love relationship with daffodils, but I equally have a dislike of tulips. We live in an area where we have deer all the time in our yard and tulips are like cotton candy on the carnival cone we carried around as kids. SUGAR HIGH FOR DEER! We tried multiple times to grow tulips and rarely did we see them bloom! They were simply stems with invisible blooms because the deer ate every one! Kind of like my daylilies and my vegetable garden in the summer – frustrating. Obviously my frustration is with deer versus the tulips but tulips still get a bad rap from me!
The Flowering Fields Suite!
So THESE TULIPS I can love and enjoy without the issue of deer!!! Stampin’ Up’s Suite FLOWERING FIELDS is simply stunning – from the DSP to the beautiful stamped images and dies, to the brushed brass butterflies and ribbon to complete the ensemble – it’s truly gorgeous!
The card above is one of our make and takes for Stampin Bingo tonight. An unusual color combination of Soft Succulent, Mango Melody, and Pumpkin Pie. I’ve included the Brushed Brass Butterflies, the sheer open weave ribbon and the greeting with the tailored punch – my favorite one! – making this a quick card to showcase those tulips that the deer can’t ruin for me!
I will share pictures tomorrow of bingo and our bingo swag bag! Until then, keep stamping. keep crafting, and God Bless!
