I’ve always been a fan of pets. We had both cats and dogs growing up, but if I have to choose between the two, it would be dogs. And for every dog lover, there will also be a cat lover as well. I just know that our lives are fuller with the love of a pet, whether canine or feline. They love unconditionally, they provide companionship for those lonely, and they boost our happiness as well.
They also can be frustrating! Take our canine diva Shelby. She is a “Shorkie” mix (cross between a Yorkie and a Shih Tzu), and lucky for us she is not a yapper because Pool Boy doesn’t have any use for a yapper. BUT he didn’t say anything about having an attitude!!! She certainly has that! When the attitude sets in with her vocalizing I’m pretty sure she’s telling us off. But I’d be lost without her. Since she was my retirement gift from my elementary students, she’s the last connection I have to my school kids. She’s my shadow following from room to room, she has separation anxiety from me, and Pool Boy says that Shelby has ME trained when it comes to spoiling HER. (He’s right, but let’s not tell him!)
So this week, in honor of pet lovers, we are creating with the Cutest Crew Bundle!!!

Of course, I had to start with the dogs in the set! How cute is this little strip of puppies playing? Since this is a relatively small die/stamp set I used the packaged notecard/envelopes. These little cards measure 3 1/2 by 5 inches and are perfect for small messages, thank you’s, invitations, etc. That black strip looks like it could well be a red and black ribbon, but it’s a die in the set. And those little puppies – and there is also an identical stamp for the cat lovers! – can be cut apart and used separately as well.
Where did the DSP background come from? It’s from the Made With Love DSP that was so popular during the Valentine rush. I love the color combo of Real Red and black, so that DSP pattern was perfect to use, even though Valentine’s Day was several months back.

Here’s my shadow. I was working in my craft room this afternoon and saw her curled up in her craft room bed sound asleep so I needed a snapshot. Yes, she has multiple beds through the house. In the mornings she can be found curled up in our sun room because hello – sun! Megan and I both noticed that her eye sight is beginning to fail a bit, but that’s to be expected since she’s a little old lady of 13 years. It’s hard to believe she’s old though because she runs around like a puppy.
As for her name, that was the only name she could have. Since she was my retirement gift from the elementary students at Shelby County R4, what other name could she have had? Believe me, Pool Boy has multiple names for her such as Dip Stick and also one describing what her brains are made of (fill in the blank – ____ for brains) but she’s part of our family and will forever have a place in my heart.
Remember — the May-August Catalog goes live TUESDAY, MAY 5, and that is also the registration cut off for IN PERSON BINGO and the PAPER/RIBBON SHARES!!! I’ll be back again Tuesday sharing another cute notecard with the Cutest Crew bundle, but until then, have a great day doing whatever makes you happy, and God Bless!!!
