Good Morning everyone!!! What a beautiful day outside and I’m ready to get out and finish planting after this post is up and going! We had a great weekend with our family all gathered at home. Even though we had rain it didn’t dampen our spirits in the least! The girls were busy playing games with their dad, crafting with me, and for Nora cooking with her mom and Papa. Jim’s mom was here for the visit as well, and of course our son and daughter in law were in and out all weekend since they live here in Macon. The high point of the family time though was when our son and his wife announced they were adding a new member to our family!!! A BABY is heading to the family and Jim and I are thrilled knowing we will have a third grandchild to love and cuddle!! Life has certainly changed for Evan and Rachel this year with a new home, a promotion for Rachel, and now the biggest change of all – the anticipation of parenthood. As a toddler Evan was such a handful getting into everything he could, and Jim’s dad would just laugh and say “you deserve every bit of this Jim”. I know Jim is excited to repeat the same message to Evan as well! You know what they say about paybacks!?!?!? LOL
Baby Elephants and Baby Pachyderms!
I needed a sweet baby to-be card to send our kids, but nothing seemed to fit the bill in terms of greetings. Most of the stamps we have in our catalog are aimed more for AFTER baby comes, not as much for the announcing of a baby. This is one of the reasons I have copies of our current catalogs right at my work station. I thumb through the current stamp offerings looking just at the greetings – what can I pair together or cut apart to create the greeting/sentiment I’m looking for????? First one I picked was “Let’s Celebrate” from Peaceful Deer – a Christmas stamp set none the less! And for the inside sentiment – “a miracle worth waiting for” comes from The Happy Family stamp set. Added with these sweet baby pachyderms this card will be perfect!
Adding A Touch Of Pop Up Magic!
By cutting a small strip of card stock, then scoring in four equal increments, I was able to add a little box behind the sitting elephant creating a cute surprise when opening the card.

Final Thoughts….
I’m down to the last two days of school this week, with tomorrow saying goodbye to my students and cleaning out my room. Wednesday will be the long “check out scavenger hunt” going between 3 buildings getting everyone’s initials for approval. Room cleaned?? Get the janitor to approve. Lunch bill paid?? Get the lunchroom monitor to approve. Special Ed files completed??? Get the SPED director’s approval. Inventories completed??? Get the building secretary to approve. The list goes on – for THREE PAGES!!!! When everything has been approved, take to Central Office for exit interview, pick up your teaching certificate on file and work completed. But when it’s over – let the retirement finally begin! Thinking a good adult beverage will be a fine way to celebrate! Until next time, keep stamping, keep crafting, and God Bless!!!!
