We have started our first leg of the trip south by staying overnight with our daugther’s family. The girls were scheduled for softball practices, but due to weather both practices were cancelled, and we had extra time to spend with the granddaughters. We’ve given mom and dad a reprieve from homework duties tonight, so we have gone over spelling words, had multiple books read to us, spent time practicing “take away” for Fiona’s math in Kindergarten, then spent the remainder of the evening playing the card games Trash Can and War. We had to teach Papa Pool Boy how to play Trash Can – he wasn’t overly impressed since he never won! They have had supper, showers, hugs and kisses and are currently heading to bed.
I’m sorry the weather kept them from going to practice but thankful for the extra time we had with them!

We will continue you next leg tomorrow morning after everyone leaves for school/work. Plans are to have lunch in Memphis at the Memphis BBQ Company then on into Alabama for the evening. My last hour at home was spent gathering craft supplies to take on the trip. Gotta say, I can’t wait to unpack my craft bag once we hit Destin. I told Pool Boy he will have to record my unpacking because I was impressed at all I could pack into the bag!!! AND, I’ll need to watch the video to get everything to fit back into the bag!!!
