This week’s focus is all about using our winter DSP, or getting it under control so we have space for the new DSP’s heading our way!!!! Pool Boy and I are focused on using the Oh Holy Night DSP right now – which is already sold out! Let me correct that – I’M focused on using it, and Pool Boy is helping me run the dies for the projects. My thinking when I first started papercrafting was “gotta buy the DSP BUT be careful not to use too much, cause what if I want it for special projects down the road????” Did I use it for special projects down the road? Probably NOT because there was MORE BEAUTIFUL DSP coming with each new catalog!!!!
So now, I try to figure ways to use the DSP before the new arrives!! (Actually, new HAS arrived and is still waiting to be unboxed in my craftroom. I’m hanging in there until the first two weeks of Dec. and my classes are over!) Here are three ways we are using the current DSP to make way for the new!
The Blessings Card Ministry At Zion!
We’ve had a card ministry at our church for close to 5 years now, and it is still going strong. Several ladies gather together to create 2 simple but beautiful cards which are also stamped with our church’s information. These cards are available for our congregation monthly so they have religious cards on hand to share as needed – thinking of you, praying for you, sending words of encouragement and peace. I turned to the Oh Holy Night DSP for both the background on the Prince Of Peace card, and ALSO the strip of DSP on the Stars card. These cards are ones we can churn out quickly with easy preparation. Everything is cut, so following bible study today, we will take an extra hour and have these ready to distribute Sunday!
The Bethlehem Nativity Shadowbox!
I posted this project yesterday, and our first class is scheduled for tonight!!! This project will take another full page of DSP from the remaining sheets, so after all three of the classes are held, I will have knocked out 1/6 of the DSP sheets. Our classes are full, but I am also offering the tutorial with video available by private group page, so reach out if you are interested. You will be responsible for your own frame, lighting, and dies. Place a min. $25 order at the link below to be added to the tutorial list:

Final Project – A 12 x 12 Nativity Scene For Our Elderly!
Our final project using the Oh Holy Night DSP will be creating a 12×12 Nativity scene to share with our elderly members of our church family. The ladies at church will be gathering to prepare and create 24 samplers – some for married couples, some for widowed – to have in their home to display for the holiday season. A grant has been written to purchase 12×12 frames as well. And with this project, there goes another 1/6 of our DSP package!
Final Thoughts….
Between these three projects – Christmas cards for our card ministry, the Nativity Scenes, and the lighted Shadow box scene – I’ve knocked out alot of the remaining DSP!!! Keep in mind, I used several sheets during the months of our Christmas card classes, so I’ve gotten a good handle on the packages!!!
I love our DSP just like you, but if I kept holding it for some special project in the future, I’d be able to wallpaper most all of the rooms in my house! Use your paper, cause there will be more to choose from with each new catalog!!! Pool Boy told me years ago, NO MORE WALL PAPER in our house, so best to use it!!
Until next time, have a wonderful day creating, stamping, and crafting! God Bless!!!
