Violet Dreams Suite And A 2nd Easel Fun Fold!

Today’s post continues with the theme from yesterday! I’ve been playing with the Violet Dreams Suite and I’ve another easel card layout! Today is also the in person Christmas card class for July. I keep waiting for the “other shoe to drop” because I had everything prepped, packaged, and packed to take to church before dinner last night. The tutorial is typed, the kits going in the mail are packaged and waiting for the postage info, and I swear I must have forgotten something! It’s never this smooth getting ready for a card class away from our house, so what have I forgotten???? Will be interesting to see when I set up at church in a couple of hours. Luckily, our home is less than 10 minutes away from church – assuming I get stopped at a red light – so I can quickly zip home to pick up what’s needed.

Whereas yesterday I turned to the floral and leaf dies for my card, today I switched up and used the stamps and blends instead. This package of DSP comes with two full sheets of laser punched out pieces for crafting, besides stamped images and die cut images, so I’m making use of all three crafting possibilities. The oval and scalloped oval dies are part of the Framed Violets bundle, and I ran the scallop bundle with one of the DSP patterns.

Before adhering the delicate violet bouquet, I first took my Fresh Freesia ink pad and a blending brush to add a shadow of color to the middle of the oval. The stamped image was die cut, then colored in with Fresh Freesia, Peaceful Pine, and Secret Sea blends.

On the inside of the card I layered a slim piece of DSP, then ran a long die cut through a scrap of the DSP pattern on the card front. By punching out a label with the three banner punch, I added a sentiment, then popped it up with a couple of dimensionals. To stand the card up, simply tuck the front of the card base behind the strip of DSP to get the easel effect!

Please keep our friend Pam in your thoughts today as she heads to surgery. I visited with her yesterday and it’s not in her nature to sit still and do nothing, so it’s been a rough week waiting for the surgery to arrive.
