Welcoming March In With A Shamrock Sampler!

Well, obviously March arrived like a lion this weekend. We missed the snow, but the sleet arrived. Luckily not much of that either, so I hope weather didn’t impact much in your area.

I’ve been working on changing out my frames around my house, and I wanted to add a 12 x 12 sampler to my kitchen island. Last week on our group page Stamp. Ink. Paper – Creating With Pam and Lola I put together a fast sampler using multiple supplies found in my craft room. Some people are intimidated when creating a sampler because of the different mats and all of the measurements, but the Shamrock Sampler I used below was super easy to create, and I worked through the entire process sharing as I went.

I chose a couple of colors to focus on – Mossy Meadow and Old Olive, and paired them with Very Vanilla. (I have to make myself use Very Vanilla! I almost always use Basic White.) I also went through my 12 x 12 solid two tone card stock for the largest paper needed. I keep a package of Basic White and Very Vanilla 12 x 12 sheets in my craft supplies for projects just like this as well.

I grabbed sheets of Old Olive, Mossy Meadow, and Very Vanilla measuring 8.5 by 11 inches, Mossy Meadow ink, the Made With Love Valentine hearts, an embossing folder, and a sheet of the green background from the Delicate Dreams DSP package.

Normally I work from the outside into the middle of a sampler, but for the one above I started with the three large heart dies from the Endless Love dies, then cut the layers outward. Chris also shared this adorable creation with the new Boardwalk Fun dies!!!! Several demonstrators have shown the moveable Ferris wheel, and Chris went to work creating this fun evening scene including the firework dies from a couple of years ago. So, the video is kind of a two for one – the sampler AND the moveable Ferris wheel!
