Good morning everyone!!! It is chilly and abit frosty here in our neck of the woods, enough that you know winter is not far away. This past Saturday it was beautiful and warm, and in just a day the weather has changed. This is what Missouri is known for – if you don’t like the weather now, just wait! It will change quickly!
If you have followed me for any length of time you know that I enjoy using my papercrafting hobby to help others. Yesterday I received a beautiful gift from a friend, and I want to share it with you while also highlighting what a she and friends did to share their joy with others.
How beautiful is this package of handcrafted cards???? And being the retired music teacher here, it’s perfect for me!! Our friend Linda has been sharing her papercrafting with others for a very long time, and she’s the one who invited me to card club all those years ago. I had no clue what Stampin’ Up was, anything about papercrafting, no idea what I was doing. but once there, I was hooked. Do you recognize the music DSP above??? It was in a specialty package last year, and she canvased area stampers searching for as much as she could find to create these beautiful cards. I wonder how many of this design alone she created????
Here is a picture Linda posted with some of her busy bee workers helping her to churn out an unbelievable number of Christmas cards recently – over 500 cards!!! Three hundred fifty were donated to the area Meals On Wheels organization in northeast Missouri to distribute with the holiday meals, and an extra 200 were divided between Macon County Ministries, the Hospital Auxiliary, and the Macon Senior Center.
Over the years Linda has called in these friends to help with a huge colony of penguin cards, a humungous pile of cards for every holiday, and a plethora of bird cards from a DSP most of them never want to see again! When Dawn’s son was married this past summer these ladies gathered to roll out all of the thank you cards for the happy couple. How can you not be joyful crafting for others when you gather with friends to do so?????
And to adhere this delicate die???? Be sure to tune in on my FB LIVE Monday when I share the new adhesive they found on Amazon!!! I’ve been a big supporter of Stampin’ Up’s adhesive sheets, but this new adhesive may be a game changer for me!!!
So, don’t let your retired DSP and cardstocks go to waste!!! Find an organization you can share your papercrafting talents with and call in your friends to help you create for others. It’s a double win for both the organization AND you!!!
FYI – Stampin’ Up should hire someone who has a better understanding of music though. There are measures above in this paper that are not correct, AND there is a DEFINITE mistake regarding note stems!! Stems go UP on the right side of the note head, DOWN on the left side. That half note on the end of the third staff from the bottom is driving me nuts!!
AND LINDA!!!! I found several more packages of the beautiful BIRD PAPER from last year!!!!! Want to make some more bird cards????? How about it Arlene and Dawn – are you game???? You can probably get another couple of hundred cards from my packages!!
Until tomorrow, have a great day doing whatever makes you happy, and God Bless!!!!
