Here in northeast Missouri we USUALLY experience all four of the seasons. Winter may come too early, and summer arrive too soon as well, but we get to experience the seasonal rotations. My favorite season is spring with the arrival of COLOR back in our drab, gray, outside world. But I also enjoy a good snowfall too, and those snows are much more enjoyable now that I do not have to drive to work! There’s nothing more peaceful than watching the snow fall and accumulate and enjoying a fire, a good book to read, and lounging in your pjs cause you know no one is coming to your front door today!
And of course, students and teachers enjoy the arrival of summer, except maybe not the excessive heat and humidity that arrives with it. But there’s nothing quite like an autumn morning with a crispness to the air and cooler temps, the colorful leaves on the trees, the arrival of pumpkins, decorations, and football. Spring may be my favorite season, but Fall is a close second!

This coming weekend I’m gathering with several demonstrators whom Pam and I connected with during the Disney incentive trip. We’ve formed an accountability group – basically, just to encourage and support each other – and our first in person gathering with be this Saturday. Each of us selected a new bundle or suite to share with a make and take, but also to create and display several other cards/3D projects made using this product choice . The idea is come home with lots of pictures and ideas to use in our business.
My choice was the Amber Autumn Suite!!! I love the DSP and the stamp set images, and couldn’t wait to get to work on them. Problem was I had a popcorn palooza class that had to be finished! Saturday I FINALLY was able to spend time playing and creating, so guess what??? You are going to see PLENTY using this bundle through the week!

For being a crafty person and one who painted for years, I’m a bit intimidated by watercoloring! But I CAN get the same effect using the ink pads as well as the blending pens by Stampin’ Up! I could have also used the blends, but I was wanting to create an image as muted and soft as the ones in the DSP that I used. I wanted to stay away from the Pumpkin Pie color! That was too bright and bold for the images in the DSP.

And how can you create a variety of cards without using a few fun folds??? For this card I used the Double Z fun fold idea, then turned to the gems and ribbon included in the suite to embellish.
Final Thoughts….
So for this week, I’m going to step aside from Christmas and focus on fall projects! I’ll be sharing my cards later today during my FB LIVE, as well as how I created this soft and subtle leaves/acorn combo. Fall doesn’t HAVE to be bright oranges like Pumpkin Pie (sorry Pam!!! We all know orange is your favorite color but not using it this week!). Over the weekend I also punched out all of the leaves for my fall garland kit and guess what? NO Pumpkin Pie leaves!!!
Pam’s stamp group made some beautiful Fall banners at their gathering that I will share, AND I need to be thinking about our Stamp ‘n Sip autumn banner as well as writing a grant for 12 x 12 fall samplers to distribute to our elderly church family members. AND there are Blessings cards to be designed and made for our church. Lots of work ahead in the next few days.
Here’s hoping you have a great day doing whatever makes you happy, and until tomorrow – God Bless!!!
