Playing With The Two-Toned Card Stock!

Whoever mentions how much free time you will have when you retire, OBVIOUSLY isn’t retired! I ran from bible study yesterday to set up for Stamp ‘n Sip, while Pool Boy had lunch with a friend then spent the afternoon driving to pick up a part for a farmer. He walked in the door about 20 minutes before I left for Stamp ‘n Sip, and it was after 8 before my craft stuff was in the house and we were finally sitting down to relax before bed. Today is much like the same with appointments AND a techniques class – so free time in retirement??? NO – but I’m ok with that! It’s my choice to keep us busy and going and moving.

Combining The Christmas Word Embossing Folder With The Two-Toned Card Stock!

Stampin’ Up added the two-toned card stock (I’ll refer to it as 2TCS) to our crafting supplies this year in all of our color collections – so that’s 50 different shades! – have you given it a try??? It is thinner than our traditional card stock with a white core, and each side is a different shade of the color making monochromatic cards a breeze. There are several techniques you can use with 2TCS, and today’s tip involves sanding.

After embossing the Real Red mat with the fun Christmas Worlds hybrid folder (I didn’t include the coordinating die so we simply had the embossed words), I took a sanding block and lightly sanded over the words revealing the white core underneat the red.

This works with all embossing folders, although some are better than others. It’s a quick and easy way to add variety to your papercrafting. I paired up the folder with the stamp sets Jar of Joy and Homemade Treats for the greetings and jar punch, then added the Real Red/White baker’s twine and the cute peppermints to embellish.

Paper Shares Are Almost Ready For Distributing!!!

Paper shares are cut, packaged, and waiting for the labels that I picked up yesterday! It will be Friday before I can finish up the shares, so everything went back in a box to protect from a two year old, Shelby the canine diva, and any other mishap that could damage them.

If you are picking up at my house they will be available beginning Saturday morning. I’m hoping to mail the others out that day as well.
