Pool Boy and I grew up listening to the musical group Meatloaf. Anyone else??? What an odd name for a band – MEATLOAF! But it seem’s the perfect title for today’s post, cause I made it to the first two fishing days, but today I skipped! Yesterday was absolutely beautiful on the lake with no wind, blue skies, and the water smooth. But the trade-off? Little bugs! How can a little bug be 6-8 miles from shoreline??? The deckhand said they hatch in the water, love no moving air so yesterday was awesome for them as well.
Took twice as long to catch the fish, but when we came back to shore the fish board was loaded, and there is a mess of fish in the refrigerator to take home. With me not going today means less fish for them to catch, less for the crew to clean.

Final Thoughts….
We’ve had a wonderful time here in Port Clinton, Ohio fishing with the OUTCAST SPORTING FISHING crew. This is our second year with them, and the plan is to return again next year. These guys work so very hard to be sure you return to shore with your fishing tags loaded and the community itself is perfect. It’s small but clean and so friendly, full of restaurants and business that aren’t chains. No Olive Garden/Texas Roadhouse/Red Lobster here. Oh, there’s the ever popular McDonalds, Wendys, and of course a Wally World, but the businesses are owned by local owned community members, and plenty of little air bnbs as well.
The ferry travels all day from shore to the islands such as Put-In-Bay. We went there last year, rented a golf cart and spend the day driving around, visiting quaint shops, nature centers, lighthouses, and the ever needed icecream and fudge shops as well. Had delicious lobster bisque at one of the locally owned restaurants too.
